Types of Job Postings

There are two types of job posting: Internal and External. Internal job postings are for current employees of an organization. If an existing employee possesses the skill and knowledge needed to fill the open position, they are encouraged to apply. Internal applications save time and money that would be spent on external advertising, interviewing, and new hire training. External job postings are those open to the entire public or targeted to a certain demographic and are marketed in career portal, job boards and social media. When qualified applicants apply to these jobs, they will be screened and suitable candidates will be moved to interview and test rounds. Hiring entities often post externally to locate talent that offers skills not available in-house.
