What do Submission and Pipeline mean?

What is a Submission?

A submission is when a profile is screened and identified as a potential candidate for a job opening and hence, submitted to a hiring manager. CEIPAL ATS has a submission section for profiles submitted by recruiters to their managers, for a particular job. Profiles can be further screened and then be added to “disqualify” or “add confirmation” options.

What is a Pipeline?

A pipeline is a list of candidates who may be suitable for a job requirement / opening. In CEIPAL ATS, users can “Tag to job” those candidate profiles they think may be a good fit for particular jobs. Candidates who apply to a job from job boards, social media or career portal, by default, will also come to the pipeline section of that job. From the pipeline, recruiters can screen the profiles by interview, test etc. and choose to “Submit to Job” those candidates who are eligible.

Why do we have a differentiation between Submissions and Pipeline?

Candidates in the Pipeline of a job have only been tagged to the job and need to be screened further before being submitted internally or to the client. Also, not all profiles who apply from job board or career portal may be a good fit for the particular job. So it helps that they are added to the Pipeline rather than Submissions.

Submissions are made by a recruiter or ATS user only (unless your Admin has setup for new applications from job boards/career portal to land on the Submissions section). A profile in the submission section indicates that it has been screened and approved as an eligible candidate for the particular job. After further screening – employee tests or interviews – the candidate can be submitted to client. According to the client response, the ATS user can then “Disqualify” or “Confirm” the applicant profile for the job.
